“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
I love teaching! The best part of my day comes from helping students learn new things or learn to think about old things in new ways. I also look forward to learning from students. They have so much to share!
I have been teaching at Erin School since 2013. Prior to coming to Erin, I taught third grade at a private school in Milwaukee. Before that, I earned my certification in elementary and middle school education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While attending UWM, I had the opportunity to work in many different classrooms throughout Milwaukee with students ranging from first through eighth grades.
I also bring 20 years of experience as a journalist to the classroom. During my last five years in journalism, I volunteered with a third-grade class through the Junior Achievement program. I fell in love with teaching and decided to spend the second half of my professional life helping students achieve as much as possible. I have an adult child with special needs and I believe that every student should be encouraged and supported to reach his or her full potential.
