I grew up in Richfield and went to high school in Hartford. I graduated in 2000 and continued on in my education at UW-La Crosse. I graduated with a minor in Early Childhood and a major in Elementary Education. I have been teaching at Erin School since 2009. I love this school district because it is a close community and the people here really know and care for one another. The parents, teachers, and administrators here at Erin School are always willing to work together in order to provide the best education possible for our students.
I decided a career in teaching was for me because I always grew up valuing education. If you are willing to learn new things, your potential is limitless. I love that I get to go to a job where I get to see the people I work for each day…the KIDS! I have always said that teaching is not a job, it’s a privilege. I also love that I get to be a positive role model for children. I see so much potential in each child I teach, and the kids in my class know I care about them.
The students and I work as a team to learn something new every day. My classroom environment is comfortable, safe, and engaging. It will hopefully prove to be a place that your child enjoys coming to each day. Learning should be a job taken seriously by the children in my class. Children should be encouraged to respect each other and themselves. In my classroom we are all encouraged to be ourselves and respect one another and what we bring to each other as learners, and as friends.
