My name is Rachel Martin (but you may remember me as Miss Gerth) and I have been teaching Middle School Social Studies at Erin since 2012. I also continue to advise Erin School Student Council. I grew up in Iron Ridge, Wisconsin and graduated from Horicon High School. I then attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where I graduated in 2010 with a degree in History and minors in Education and Political Science. In my free time I like to read, work on arts and crafts projects, and support the Green Bay Packers.
Throughout the year we will learn about the past through reading, writing, and researching as well as through simulations, debates, and trials. Stay tuned to my website for photos and videos of our classroom activities!
I also now teach 8th Grade Technology as well! In 8th Grade Technology students will be exploring computer science basics by learning to code animations, interactive art, and games in Game Lab using Code.org. Financial literacy, digital citizenship, and computer literacy skills will also be embedded in the course.
