“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

-Margaret Mead

I am so excited to be your first grade teacher!  Erin School added me to the family in the 2014-2015 school year.   I have taught 3rd grade and kindergarten prior to teaching first grade here at Erin.  I love the family feel and collaborative nature of working at Erin.

I grew up in Slinger, Wisconsin and went to college at St. Norbert College where I majored in  Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.   My favorite part of college was getting the opportunity to student teach in New Zealand.  I also became a certified math interventionist and received my Masters of Science in Education degree from UW Oshkosh in 2019.

My passions in education included incorporating technology in meaningful ways and fostering a love of STEM fields in my students.  I believe my job is not just to cover the content of our curriculum but also to help foster a life long love of learning.  There is nothing better than seeing the spark of curiosity and excitement as students explore, create, and learn.

I currently live in Hartford with my husband Brent, our son Owen, and our daughter Olivia.  When I’m not teaching I love to travel, bake and sew!

If you ever have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.
