Mrs. Hahn

In October 1988, I began my teaching career in the Erin School District.  My first three years at Erin School I taught third grade. From 1991-June 2013  I taught fourth grade students.  In September 2013, I began another exciting  journey in becoming a teacher of fifth grade students.  I am extremely excited to have begun a new chapter in my teaching career. I have adapted the Common Core State Standards for 5th grade with the Erin School Curriculum and finding new ways to educate, motivate and challenge students. I have attended the Teacher’s College at Columbia University in New York for Reading in 2013 and 2014.  This was a fantastic learning experience and I have so much to bring back to share with my students and colleagues.  I have been so motivated in using the Reading and Writing Workshop Model designed by Lucy Calkins.

I received a bachelor’s degree in 1987 from UW-Whitewater in Elementary Education and I am certified to teach Elementary Education in grades 1-8. In August of 2003, I acquired my master’s degree in Teacher Development in the field of Technology Education from Marian University, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Beginning Fall 2014, I am currently seeking licensure (#316) as a Reading Teacher from Viterbo University, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

I have been involved as a coach for chess club, boys’ volleyball and running club. I have also served as a Parent Teacher Club (PTC) Vice President and have volunteered in many of the PTC activities.  I have been involved in several community organizations, such as the Erin Soccer Club, the Hartford Union High School Booster Club and church sponsored activities.

I am an advocate of health and fitness in the classroom as well as in my personal life.  In April 2011, I participated in the Boston Marathon after qualifying in May 2010 in Green Bay at the Cell Com Marathon.  This was an incredible experience!

I enjoy using life experiences to help motivate students.
