Mr. Andress

Mr. Andress has been teaching at Erin since 2004, after teaching eleven years at Unity Middle School in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.  He teaches sixth through eighth grade Spanish, and 6th grade Technology as well.  He is also the school’s Athletic Director, 8th grade Boys and Girls Basketball coach, serves on the Leadership Team and is the Teacher- in-Charge at Erin School. Additionally, he is the Boys and Girls Varsity Tennis Coach at Hartford Union High School.

“Teaching is a great responsibility, one that I take very seriously.  It is awesome to work with children that have various interests and needs.  I make it my goal every year to reach every student and help them improve as a person and as a Spanish student.  I have very high expectations of myself and of my students.  Having fun while learning is my preferred method of engaging the students everyday.  Students are told up front that if they cooperate and participate in class they will probably enjoy class and be successful in it. I look forward to another fun and exciting school year!”

Mr. Andress graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1989, received his Bachelor of Science – Education Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1993 and his Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota in 2001. In 1993 – 1994 he was recognized as the Sallie Mae First Class Teacher in his first year of teaching while at Unity Middle School. He was the 2012-2013 Erin School nominee for the Kohl Teaching fellowship. He has also been recognized three times in the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. In 2017 he was named the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association’s Division One Girls Tennis Coach of the Year for the state of Wisconsin.  He was subsequently named Girls Sectional Coach of the Year for Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin for 2017.
