Welcome to the 2012-13 school year! I am thrilled to have the privilege of serving the Erin School District in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction.   I am also excited to add Middle School Principal to my responsibilities for this school year. Mr. Platais and I have been working together to ensure a smooth transition for students, parents and our teachers.

Embracing the strengths of our staff and community, Erin staff members are working together to create an engaging learning environment for all. Our teachers continue to clarify our “guaranteed curriculum,” one that all students experience as they grow and learn at Erin School. It is an exciting and challenging time in education as we prepare students for a world we can only imagine.

I joined the Erin staff at the start of the 2008-09 school year. Previously, I worked as the Director of Instruction for the Kewaskum School District and was a former middle school teacher in both Brown Deer and Waunakee School District. I hold a degree in Elementary/Middle Level Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. My husband and I live in Slinger with our four energetic children. I serve the district on a part-time basis, but can be reached via e-mail at any time. I welcome your questions and comments.

Beliefs that guide my work include:

• Teachers have the most significant influence on student achievement within factors that schools control.
• Parents are important partners in helping students meet their full potential.
• While all children have different strengths and needs, they all can learn and will be able to demonstrate growth as a result of spending time in our classrooms.
• Learning should be fun and engaging!
