Erin School Donates Books to the Tiniest Patients
Aurora Medical Center Summit received a donation this month of 45 books from the first graders at Erin School to give to our newborn families. Their teachers, Mrs. Laura Plaza and Mrs. Beth Mikkelsen, asked the class to write their own books, which they in turn sold to family and friends for a small profit. Students then used those monies to purchase brand new Scholastic Books. The classes decided to which two nonprofits they would like to donate the new books, and they choose AMCS as one of those charities! The goal is to set new babies and their families on the journey to a life-long love of reading.
Pictured are Erin School’s first graders proudly displaying their newly purchased books, and AMCS nurses who will have the opportunity to make families happy with the books.
